Front Row at NY Fashion Week S/2012: Tinsley Mortimer

It wouldn't be New York Fashion Week without New York socialite and designer Tinsley Mortimer!  Tinsley was spotted front row at Marchesa, Alice and Olivia, Milly by Michelle Smith, Betsey Johnson and Simon Spurr.

New York Fashion Week S/2012: Diane Von Furstenberg

The moment I heard that the Diane Von Furstenberg show was streaming live, I knew I had to watch it, time difference or not!  This season, Diane opened her collection with an array of white looks which slowly progressed to dashes of colour..yellow, pink, blue, orange and mint green.  I loved the mixture of pastels with bold and vibrant colours.  Whilst florals dominated the collection, from jumpsuits to dresses, skirts and blouses, quite a few looks were toned down with structured blazers, pants and tailored shorts.  Diane ended the show by walking the whole runway handing out American flags to the front row.  And as for the front row?...Rachel Zoe and Rodger, Valentino and Oscar de la Renta!  Oh and thanks to the live stream for showing Rachel Zoe each time the model turned the runway!

New York Fashion Week S/2012: Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa

It's that time of the year again..New York Fashion Week!!!  Unfortunately, this year I wasn't in attendance, so of course I found the next best thing..live streaming from New York Fashion Week!  Two of my favourite collections just off the runway would have to be Marchesa and Oscar de la Renta.  (Like that's anything new!)
Oscar de la Renta
The Oscar de la Renta show streamed live this morning and of course I couldn't miss it.  Fashion's elite were out in full force and front row attendees included Rachel Zoe, Joe Zee, Nina Garcia, Ashley Olsen, Justin Timberlake and my favourite front row duo this season, Anna Wintour sitting next to Nicki Minaj!  Oscar de la Renta stunned audiences with a unique opening number..a yellow silk taffeta gown complemented with a couture lace midriff tee.  The collection progressed with amazing little white numbers followed by  dashes of colour..lime, blue, pink and red.  The collection of course ended with Oscar's signatory gowns.. my favourite part of the collection!  In comparison to Oscar de la Renta's previous collections, the 2012 Spring collection is quite fresh and young.  A welcomed surprise to the Oscar de la Renta empire!

Marchesa
And as for Marchesa?  I think I'm still picking my jaw up off the ground.  A completely stunning collection.  I love Marchesa..perhaps it's the tulle, or feathers or maybe the embellishments!  For the first time, this season Marchesa hit the runway instead of their usual presentation.  What made this show even more amazing?...The front row..Rachel Zoe, Olivia Palermo, Tinsley Mortimer, Louise Roe and that was just the start!

Fashion's Night Out 2011!

Fashion's Night Out is one of my favourite nights on the fashion calendar, which is why I'm so disappointed that I missed out! Yes, the flu kept me in bed, which meant I missed the festivities of Fashion's Night Out Sydney. However, I couldn't just let Fashion's Night Out pass without reporting on all the goss and glamour, both here and abroad!
Fashion's Night Out was originally created to revive the fashion world and to encourage consumerism, as well as putting the 'excitement' back into shopping. Since it began three years ago, it's amazing to see just how much the event has blossomed both in Australia and globally...only the work of Anna Wintour of course!
Sydney participated in their second Fashion's Night Out and this year was the first time the event was celebrated in the new Westfield Sydney. This meant shoppers experienced exclusive events by local designers and for the first time, major international designers! Over at the Calvin Klein store, the Spring/Summer collection was brought to life with yellow decor, CK signatory cocktails and an array of Australia's hottest celebrities including Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson, the team from Bondi Rescue and Nacho Pop.  Meanwhile, at Mulberry, the store was transformed into a magical forest!  Elsewhere, Dider Cohen and Erin McNaught embraced summer at the Strand Acarde, Myer launched Lipsey and the David Jones designers mingled with customers. Shoppers were treated with exclusive one night discounts and offers and were able to purchase a Fashion's Night Out T-shirt designed by one of my personal favourite designers, Diane Von Furstenberg!
And as for New York? Let's just say I'm already planning for next year! Fashion's Night Out New York, kicked off New York Fashion Week and what an event it was! Fashion's elite were out in full force from Rachel Zoe at Bloomingdales, Leighton Meester at Tiffany and Co, Justin Bieber and Chace Crawford at Dolce and Gabbana, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Erin Heatherton at Victoria's Secret, Alexa Chung at Stella McCartney, Joe Jonas and the Glee Stars at Saks on Fifth Avenue, Coca Rocha at Topshop....Diane Von Furstenburg, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Anna Wintour, Joe Zee, Tinsley Mortimer, The Kardashian Girls, Pauly D, Usher and that was just the start! I cannot wait till next year's event!
