The year that was 2011!

As we welcome 2012, thought I'd take a look back at the year that was 2011.  Personally, my highlight was Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, where this year I was invited as a blogger!  I was so fortunate to witness some of the most amazing shows..from Carla Zampatti to Rachel Gilbert to Alice McCall, Bianca Spender, Michael Lo Sordo, Shakuhachi, Bec and Bridge, Thurley, Karla Spetic, Lisa Maree, Kooey and Life with Bird.  It's something I will never forget!  As well as this, I finally completed my Bachelor Degree in Business!
The year in fashion started on a high note, where Rachel Zoe not only launched the Rachel Zoe Collection, but also gave birth to little baby Skyler!  We witnessed fairytale weddings from William and Kate to Kim and Kris..which was followed by the year's most shocking break up.  Marc Jacobs created a Louis Vuitton merry-go-round while Karl Lagerfeld created a Chanel underwater fantasy.
Australia participated in their first Vogue's Fashion's Night In taking online shopping to a whole other level.  Australia was also welcomed to the Mercedes Benz family, where Mercedes Benz became the official sponsors of Australian Fashion Week.   For the first time we went behind the scenes of Australia's largest printing houses with ACP Magazines' 'Park Street' and Pacific Magazines' Marie Claire's 'Under the Cover'.  We finally welcomed Zara and Topshop to Australia's shores sending everyone into a fashion frenzy!  Olivia Palermo graced her first Australian magazine cover, Shop Til You Drop and launched her Olivia Palermo blog!  Taylor Swift continued to take over the world while Karlie Kloss became the newest Victoria's Secret Model dominating the runway!  'One Tree Hill' confirmed their final season with the return of Chad Michael Murray while Chuck Bass and Damon Salvatore finally became the 'good guys'!  Did I miss anything?
I can't wait to see what the world of fashion and celebrities have in store for 2012!

Merry Christmas :)

Merry Christmas everyone!  Hope you have an amazing day!  Wishing you and your family a happy and safe Christmas!

Dream a Little Dream with Sportsgirl!

If you've walked into a Sportsgirl store lately, you probably would have noticed their amazing 'Make Believe' campaign.  This is definitely one of favourite Sportsgirl campaigns because it's all about following your dreams and believing that anything is possible!  Sportsgirl have asked bloggers to join their 'Believe' initiative and spread to word in encouraging everyone to follow their dreams. So here are the questions we have been asked to answer and share with you!
As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
I guess you could say I've always dreamed big.  As a child I wanted to be a swimmer, a dancer, a singer and a businesswoman.
Did you make this dream come true or change your mind?
As soon as I discovered my love for fashion....everything changed!  Yes I ended up studying business, but everything I do now involves my love of fashion.  Fashion has allowed me to dream bigger than I have ever dreamed before.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
My brother and I were quite adventurous and inquisitive, so there was never a dull moment!  I remember travelling to Europe with my family, summer school holidays with friends and of course Christmas with all my cousins, counting how many Christmas beetles we could find!
The biggest dream you have right now?
I'm fresh out of University and I guess you could say 'the world is my runway!'  My biggest dream right now....NEW YORK FASHION WEEK.  I want to attend and blog New York Fashion Week, and I should probably add Paris, London and Milan to that dream too!  I always want to remain working in the Fashion Industry!
Your summer must-have pick from the current Sportsgirl range?
I'm all about metallics and sequins this season and therefore my picks would have to be:

The Steve Madden Diaries: Chapter 2

"Your feet work hard for you so the least you can do is buy pretty things to put on them!" Lauren Conrad  Once you've purchased your classic pump and wedge, it's then time to add a little sparkle to your wardrobe.  This season it's all about colour, leopard and metallic!
Colour
From purple to blue, orange, green and red..this season's biggest trend is colour.  Purchasing a pair of coloured shoes is the best way to add a pop of colour, instantly transforming as well as completing any outfit.  When it comes to wearing coloured shoes, no one does it better than Olivia Palermo and 'Blair Waldorf'!
Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Steve Madden's Audrinaa heel which combines a little purple and blue.
Metallic
I am completely obsessed with metallics at the moment especially when it comes to shoes and bags.  What I love about metallic shoes, is that they are so versatile yet so glam!  Take a cue from Rachel Bilson and Taylor Swift both wearing metallics.

Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Steve Madden's Allude available in gold metallic.
Leopard
And last but not least..leopard!  The thing about leopard is that is it the one trend that always returns.  Therefore, you can never go wrong purchasing at least one classic leopard heel.  I love the way both Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo have paired a leopard pump with colour!
Get the Look: My pick this season would have to be Betsey Johnson's Diskkol leopard pump.  Yes Steve Madden is the only shoe store in Australia stocking Betsey Johnson!
